A Little Bit About Us

Skinner farm is located in rural Shelby County in Central Kentucky. We are a small, local, environmentally conscious farm and we take extra measures to insure that our meat is raised as humanely and naturally as possible. Our main focus is pastured chicken, pork, and eggs. Our chickens are raised outdoors in moveable shelters.
They have constant access to fresh grass, bugs, and whatever else they think looks delicious that day. Our pigs are have constant access to a natural environment also. They are outside at all times and have access to muddy wallows, grass, and all the dirt they care to root. We take great pride in growing happy, healthy livestock that, in turn, gives our customers the best tasting, most nutritious food for their families.

“All Things Pastured”

  • We have made a commitment to produce premium quality, delicious, pastured meats raised right here on our family farm.
  • We don't believe in taking shortcuts. Our family works hard to produce the best possible meat for your family. Period.
  • We use organic practices and we are GMO free. We believe in being environmental stewards. We never use pesticides or chemicals and we use 100% natural, recycled fertilizer produced right here on our farm by our livestock.
  • Our chickens, turkeys, and pigs are raised on grassy pastures. They enjoy sunshine, fresh Kentucky air, and they are able to forage naturally- the way we believe all animals should be raised.
  • Our meat is never treated with antibiotics or hormones and we never add anything to it after processing.
  • We feel that it is our obligation, as your farmer, to tell our story and to be completely transparent about how we do things.
